Sheet metal apprentices learn the fabrication, assembly, installation and repair of sheet metal equipment, products and structures — from operating welding equipment and reading drawings to setting up scaffolding and performing maintenance under journeyperson supervision.

A High School Diploma or GED is required. Apprentices complete both on-the-job and related classroom training and work under the Windsor Sheet Metal Workers Local 235 Collective Bargaining Agreement. The trade is physically demanding — expect to stand for extended periods, lift 50–100 pounds, climb ladders, and work in varied conditions.
