Local 235 craftsmanship honoured on historic Streetcar No. 351

The City of Windsor received the University of Windsor History Department's Kulisek Prize for restoring Streetcar No. 351 (built 1918), now on permanent display at the riverfront Legacy Beacon. Who we are

From the auto plants
to the battery plant.

Chartered August 11, 1944 under the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association — today’s SMART — Local 235 represents the trades that move the air and keep the weather out. Our members run HVAC and ductwork, raise architectural panels, install decking, siding and roofing, and balance the air in buildings across Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent. Casino Windsor, the auto plants, the NextStar battery plant, the Gordie Howe Bridge — we’ve been on them.
