Sheet metal apprentices learn the fabrication, assembly, installation and repair of sheet metal equipment, products and structures, from operating welding equipment and reading drawings to setting up scaffolding and performing maintenance under journeyperson supervision.

A High School Diploma or GED is required. Apprentices complete both on-the-job and related classroom training and work under the Windsor Sheet Metal Workers Local 235 Collective Bargaining Agreement. The trade is physically demanding. Expect to stand for extended periods, lift 50–100 pounds, climb ladders, and work in varied conditions.
